The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has announced an ambitious vision for 2025, focusing on pioneering innovations in renewable energy, expanding into retail markets, and broadening its global presence. In a New Year's address to employees, Chairman and Managing Director Pradip Kumar Das emphasized IREDA's role in shaping India's green energy future.
Innovation at the Forefront
IREDA has become a leader in financing renewable energy projects such as Green Ammonia, Pumped Storage Hydropower, and decentralized energy solutions like Solar Rooftop and PM KUSUM. These efforts reflect the agency's commitment to reshaping India's energy landscape through cutting-edge technologies and financial solutions.
Strategic Expansion
In a significant move, IREDA has registered a wholly owned subsidiary at GIFT City to drive global growth, focusing on Green Hydrogen and renewable energy equipment manufacturing. Additionally, IREDA plans to establish a retail subsidiary to offer consumer-facing solutions, such as rooftop solar systems and electric vehicles, making sustainable energy more accessible to the public.

Record Growth and Recognition
IREDA’s performance in 2024 has been exceptional, with a 129% year-on-year increase in financing, totaling ₹31,087 crore. The agency earned Navratna status, secured a BBB-(Stable) international rating from S&P Global, and was ranked second in India’s Top 5 Wealth Creators list, marking its prominence in India's green energy transition.
