The scheme was announced by Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi, during a national workshop held in New Delhi. 

India is expanding its nuclear energy capacity as a key component of its strategy to meet increasing energy demands while addressing environmental concerns. As the country’s energy needs are expected to grow significantly by 2047, nuclear power is being positioned as an important contributor to both energy security and climate goals.

March 20, 2025, marks the annual observance of World Sparrow Day, a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about the significant decline in sparrow populations. Initiated by the Nature Forever organization in 2010, this day has grown in scope and now spans over 50 countries. A four-day symposium titled India 2047: Building a Climate-Resilient Future commenced today at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
