Singh emphasized India's commitment to sustainability through initiatives like Prime Minister Modi's 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, which received praise from Rojas Rodriguez. He also showcased Madhubani paintings to highlight the connection between nature and culture. Singh extended best wishes to Colombia for the upcoming United Nations Biodiversity Conference in Cali. This meeting underscores the strengthening bilateral ties between India and Colombia in environmental cooperation. Additionally, the 16th COP to the Convention on Biological Diversity is scheduled for October – November 2024.

This pivotal gathering will also include the 11th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties (MOP) to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, as well as the fifth MOP to the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits. As nations gear up for these crucial discussions, the collaboration between India and Colombia serves as a promising model for addressing global biodiversity and climate challenges.
