NASA astronaut Christina Koch is set to join fans at the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Los Angeles Rams game on Sunday, Oct. 4, as part of NASA’s nationwide Inspiration Tour. The appearance will connect the agency’s recent Artemis II mission with a major US sporting event.
NASA said Koch will highlight space exploration and aeronautics innovation during the event in Philadelphia. The agency will also operate an Experience Zone outside the stadium from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering information about the Artemis program, interactive activities and photo opportunities.
Christina Koch And The Artemis II Mission
Koch is an engineer and NASA astronaut who has spent 338 days in space across two missions, according to her NASA biography. She served as a mission specialist on Artemis II, NASA’s first crewed Artemis flight around the Moon.
Artemis II launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on April 1, 2026, aboard NASA’s Space Launch System rocket and Orion spacecraft. The four-person crew completed a lunar flyby before returning to Earth on April 10. NASA said the mission traveled about 252,756 miles from Earth at its farthest point.
NASA Takes Space Outreach To NFL Fans
NASA’s Inspiration Tour includes stops designed to connect the agency with academic, industry and public-sector audiences. The Philadelphia event is part of a wider series of appearances linked to NFL games.
The tour is scheduled to conclude with MAX POWER on Nov. 7 and 8 near Kennedy Space Center. NASA describes the public event as a showcase for aircraft, spacecraft, autonomous vehicles and technologies linked to the future of air and space transportation.
For global audiences, the Philadelphia appearance offers a public look at how NASA is presenting the Artemis program beyond traditional spaceflight venues. The event also comes months after Artemis II completed its lunar mission, linking a major US sporting occasion with NASA’s continuing public outreach.
